Yad Moshe Free Loan Fund
The Yad Moshe Free Loan Fund (“Yad Moshe”) offers small interest-free loans to Jewish families with children aged preschool to 12 years of age. Its mission is to fulfill a variety of financial needs due to obtaining a Torah-based education.
Those seeking loans must complete a process which includes:
• Telephone interview with a Yad Moshe staff member
• Verification of application to a Torah-based educational program
• Arranging a repayment schedule
After Loan Approval
Once a loan application is approved, a repayment schedule is established. Repayment usually begins 30 days after receipt of the loan, and is repaid in installments concluding at the end of the school year in which the loan was issued.
Uses of Funds
Here are some of the ways that families choose to use their loan disbursements:
• School application fees
• Clothing purchases
• Seforim and books
• School supplies
• Other costs
Yad Moshe understands that the beginning of the school year can stress a family’s budget. If these costs were spread out throughout the course of the school year, this stress could be alleviated and financial balance may be within reach of families with young children in the home. As the start of the school year also coincides with the Yamim Noraim (High Holy Days), shalom bayis (peace in the home) becomes a worthy goal that should not be stressed due to financial constraints.
The Yad Moshe Free Loan Fund is the only one of its kind in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It is not-for-profit.
Our focus is on improving, enlarging, and enhancing the high standards of a Torah-true education for the benefit of Jewish elementary school aged children.
